Desert Roots is a local salon in the northeast heights of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Co-owned by Diana Chaparro and Erin Sanchez that opened in July 6th, 2021.We want to create a space for not only our clients but our employees, that feels warm, welcoming and inviting. Where people can have the freedom to express their inner beauty, creativity, have fun, relax, feel good about themselves and maybe even share a good laugh.
It is important to us that everyone who sits in our chair is treated with individualism, and is heard and seen. We strive for our clients to leave the salon with confidence and joy.

Hi there, Im Diana. One of the co-owners of Desert Roots. Albuquerque is my home. I wasn’t born here, but I was raised here since I was 3.
I graduated from from Aveda in 2014, and I assisted for a year, and it will be almost 9 years that I will have been behind the chair.
Since I was a young girl I knew creating beautiful hair and owning a salon was my future. And to be in a place where my dream is now a reality is unreal sometimes. I love what I do. Hair is my art, my passion, my career.
Like to believe that I am a well rounded stylist. I do everything from highlights, balayages, gray blending, natural colors, cuts from long luscious locks to short beautiful pixies. There is still so much that I would like to learn and add to my service menu.
In this field I truly believe learning never stops. So I always strive to be better and become more knowledgable in my craft.
Erin

Hello everyone, my name is Erin and I am one of the Co-owners at Desert Roots Salon. My career started in 2014 when I was hired as an assistant at another salon In Albuquerque. I assisted for about a year before taking on my own clientele. I continued working there for about 7 years before I decided to venture off and open my own salon.
Ive been a stylist for 9 years and love making people have confidence and having them leave my chair feeling good not only about their haircut about themselves.
I take pride in my work and always strive to continue learning this ever changing industry. I enjoy doing all techniques of coloring and cutting but my favorite is doing fashion color, highlights, and grey coverage.
Outside of the salon I love to spending time with my family, cooking for them or watching scary movies.
